Top 10 Home Appliances

Home appliances are considered to be very important with a lot of people. Nowadays nobody has the time to do hand washing of bed sheets and jeans, and toasting a bread in an open fire is certainly not a good idea!

Appliances are very handy tools inside our homes, but what do we need the most? In stores today, there are lots of useful appliances that we need more but which one do we really need the most?

In this short article, we list the ten most needed home appliances and explains how these appliances helps each other in the lists.

Number One – the Stove

You really need a fireplace to cook your food. Without a stove, you might as well eat out everyday. For those of you who eat out frequently, imagine how much money you have spent eating out instead buying a stove using that money. A stove can basically bake or cook fish, beef and chicken, bake chicken and boil water. Most food you want to cook and complete the recipe needs a stove.

Number Two – the Refrigerator

If you still have not buy a fridge for yourself, you have to move somewhere cold and freezing especially during summer for the food to keep cold and to preseve it. But if you want to preserve food and you don’t want to buy your own fridge, a stupid idea is to cut giant ice blocks and put it in your box..

Number Three – the Washer

Washing machine is a very helpful appliance. Within thirty minutes, all of your dirty laundry could be cleaned. About a hundred years ago, doing laundry takes so much time even for just a small group of family.

Shower Heads: Women vs. Men

First let me tell you that this article was NOT intended to be humorous at all. It was simply meant to be an informational piece about shower heads and what people preferred. The more I investigated the more I found there were huge differences between what men want vs. what women want in shower head. The more men and women I talked with the more obvious and humorous the differences became. I even had much insight into the completely different yet hilarious shower habits and “rituals” of men and women. As funny as these habits are most men will relate to the men’s habits and women will relate to the women’s habits. I bet you will too.

What will really tickle your funny bone is when YOU present or email this article to your partner, friends, relatives, coworkers, or whomever you know. Be sure to ask them their opinions on it. I will venture a guess that the responses you receive will be humorously similar to the observations I have made (even though they are completely blown out of proportion).

Before I get into the shower head differences it may be helpful to note the shower habits women and men have. This is important because there tends to be a direct relationship between these habits and what shower head is preferred.

Women: Their Shower Ritual

Most men cannot even fathom the strange “rituals” that go on when a woman showers. They only thing men know is that when the door shuts this “ritual” will last anywhere from 30 minutes to about 5 hours. After which the door swings open, steam erupts out of the bathroom, and a barely noticeable figure is standing, almost glowing, in the midst of it. It is pretty much like something out of a sci-fi movie.

Everyone looking to remodel a kitchen has the important question to consider – “How much does a new kitchen cost?”

Guess what? There is an answer!
And your Answer – How much does a new car cost?

Amazingly the investment for a new car is very close to the investment for new kitchen cabinets. As there is a wide range in car selections and car quality, so is the range and selection for new kitchen cabinets. A basic little Geo Metro, Ford Escort, Saturn, and a small car like my first car (Toyota Corolla) all differ greatly in price from a top of the line SUV shall we say Hummer, Jeep, or Bigfoot himself.

To get the right price on the right vehicle usually doing your homework and understanding your investment is in your best interest. This is the case with new cabinets, in almost the exact same manner and price range. Going with used cabinets offers the same type of problems as buying a used car does to the purchaser.

Know what goes into each task when you talk to kitchen designers or remodel contractors. By taking time to understand the kitchen planning you will be able to control the cost of the new kitchen.

Kitchen Countertops: Choosing Which Option is Right for your Kitchen Cabinet Countertop

Choosing a countertop for your kitchen cabinets can be overwhelming. Depending on your taste and budget, kitchen countertops can be a very expensive investment. Laminate countertops that have been the industry kitchen cabinets standard for decades, but now there are a wide variety of solid core, stone and butcher block countertops to choose from.

Let’s talk about Laminate Countertops. This is by far your least expensive option. The typical laminate countertops for kitchen cabinets now are up to 400% more durable than they were just ten years ago. They are more resistant to scratching scuffing and burning. They also come in a huge variety of colors, textures and patterns and finishes. The drawback to laminate is that they CAN be affected by excess heat, say from a pot, and the edges will be exposed. If you are looking for a clean look and durability, laminate countertops will not be your best choice.

Let’s talk about finishes. There are three main types of finishes. Gloss, semi-gloss or satin and textured.

Gloss finish is very shiny. It can mimic with great success, stone like polished granite and marble on your kitchen cabinets. It is, though more durable than in the past, the finish that is most prone to scratching and scuffing. It also can show wipe marks more often. So, using this finish above your kitchen cabinets in front of a window or strong light is not usually a good idea. Using a light color will help hide wipe marks. This is a finish you would prefer in an area where your kitchen cabinets get the least amount of use. Using counter protectors on your kitchen cabinets is a good idea with this finish.
