It is unarguable that bathroom vanity cabinets are an essential part to any bathroom. Unfortunately, many have shied away from purchasing the vanity of their dreams. Why? Well, because bathroom vanity cabinets have become quite costly. Fortunately, there is an alternative option for those looking to purchase the vanity of there dreams on a budget. Welcome to the world of used bathroom vanities.

Used bathroom vanity cabinets can cost almost half of what new ones do. This is a big plus side considering that many of us simply don’t have the money to splurge on a new one. What’s more is that one can purchase a very high-end vanity at half the cost. Used vanities tend to have little if no cosmetic problems – thus they are a true bargain.

So where exactly can you go to purchase a used bathroom vanity cabinet? A good place to start is the internet. Head over to your favorite online classifieds site and do a search for vanities. Some of the more popular classified sites include Craigslist and Recycler.com. When you search on the site, you’re bound to come across numerous people selling their vanities. We recommend sifting through the results at a slow pace and being vigilant in trying to spot one that’s truly jaw-dropping.

When you find one that fits your likes and budget, contact the owner and setup a meeting. You need to see the vanity in person before shelling out any cash. Once the meetings said and done and you’re satisfied with the vanity, go ahead and purchase it.

A quick word of warning, when you’re shopping for a used vanity online be sure to push for a live meeting with owner. The last thing you want is to get scammed for several hundred dollars because you weren’t careful. Good luck and happy vanity shopping!

Attention to all you bathroom design specialists. If you really want to please all the moms when it comes to their bathrooms then get busy designing and marketing these wonderful ideas. As mom’s we don’t ask for a lot but a few of these suggestions could go a long way in keeping our happy families happy!!

Okay when it comes to mirrors I don’t see why they can’t make them tooth paste repellent. It seems like every morning and night when I go look in the bathroom mirror I see little specks of toothpaste. I am sure it would be much easier to design mirrors like this rather than to teach my family to brush their teeth with their mouth closed, or heaven forbid wipe off the toothpaste when they are done.

How about a water rail you can flip up on the tub when a toddler or younger child is playing in the tub. Lots of children like to play in the bath tub and some fill up containers of water to set on the edge (that sometimes get knocked over onto the floor). If you had a waterproof rail you could flip up it could keep all the toys, water, and waves in the tub and make things much simpler.

Now this one will be tougher to design, and maybe it is something that needs to be taught in school, I know I have had more success teaching new math, world history, and physics than I have in teaching my family how to consistently change the toilet paper roll when it is empty. But if a design could be invented to help make this happen in homes with children that would be an amazing invention. Maybe a buzzer should go off when it is empty and the doors automatically lock. The only way the buzzer stops or the door unlocks is when the old roll has been replaced with a new one. I don’t know, this is one for the experts.

The last bathroom design ideas is the biggee. If inventors can invent vehicles that sense when something is getting to close when you are backing up and they can invent moisture sensing windshield wipers I see no reason why those two technologies cannot be combined into making a smart toilet. Can’t all you mothers imagine how much more pleasant cleaning the bathroom would be if your toilet was equipped with those two technologies? If this ever becomes a mainstay in bathroom plumbing you can bet it will be a mom that invents it!

A bridal shower is composed of different shower ideas, from the shower theme, decorations, food to shower favors. The first step in planning a bridal shower party is to decide the theme of the celebration.

When choosing the theme, it is always best to think about something that reflect the interests and likes of the bride-to-be. For example, you can plan a kitchen-themed shower for a bride who loves to cook.

After the shower theme has been decided, you can now proceed to other shower details such as the bridal shower invitations. Choose invitations that compliments the shower theme. There are so many types of invitation designs that are available both in online and local retail stores. The number of invitation should be based on the number of guests you wish to invite. If you want to save extra bucks, you can buy a pre-printed set of invitations or make your own using your personal computer.

The theme of the shower is also your reference when choosing the bridal shower decorations. A good choice of shower decorations should give an aesthetic function as well as a practical function to the party. The basic bridal shower decorations needed are the table cloths, table napkins, centerpieces, glasses, draping fabric, banners, and other wall and ceiling ornaments.

In order to make the bridal shower more fun and memorable, plan several bridal shower games. There are so many bridal shower games to choose from. You may include traditional games such as Balloon Pop Games, The Life Thread Game, and guessing games and trivia about the couple. Of course, you will need to choose games that compliments the shower theme also.
The food you will serve should be also based on the theme of the shower. For instance, if the shower is a Mediterranean-themed party, then basically the menu you should serve are Mediterranean delicacies that include the best of Italy, Greece, France and other Mediterranean countries’ recipes.

Of course, you want to end the shower party by thanking the guests so you want to give out bridal shower favors. Giving shower favors is the least the bride-to-be can do to thank all her guests for sharing their time before her single-hood ends. And just like other shower essentials, the choice of shower favors should also reflect the theme of the occasion. Bridal shower favors can also serve as the door prizes to the shower game winners. You may also include in the invitation the types of shower gifts the guests may give to the bride-to-be. It is also best to give shower gifts that suits the theme of the shower.

Apart from bridal shower favors, which are basically the thank you gifts for the guests, the bridal shower is also the perfect time for the bride-to-be to say thank you to her bridesmaids and maid of honor. Bridesmaids gifts are the best means to show appreciation to these beautiful ladies. There are so many gift choices for bridesmaids, few of the most popular are jewelry gifts, handbags, cosmetics supplies and many more.

Roll Top Baths were very popular during the Victorian Era. Roll Top Bathtubs in those times were widely used by the nobility and the English middle class. French crafted Roll Top Baths achieved world fame during those times. Today, a Roll Top Bath is still a very popular style bathtub; it symbolizes elegance and sophistication. To create an 18th century style bathroom, a Roll Top Bath is a must have. Here are some practical tips you can use when choosing your modern day Roll Top Bath with classic design.

To recreate the most traditional style of Roll Top Baths, your bathtub should be free standing on decorative feet. Some Roll Top Baths use a dais to elevate the main tub away from the floor. Free Standing Bath designs have aesthetic as well as practical purposes. 18th century Roll Top Baths were made using this type of design; your own modern day retro Roll Top Bath should also have the classic freestanding design. However, there are many semi modern styles of Roll Top Bath that will drop quite nicely into a traditional bathroom.

Another specific feature of a Roll Top Bath is its curved rounded edges. Classic roll top bathtubs do not have corner edges. The most popular Roll Top Bath tends to be what’s known as a Slipper Bath. This is a classic design of Roll Top Bath with a high back that offers the most comfortable of bathing positions. Every fixture around the tub should be rounded and smooth, carefully choose a modern Roll Top Bath with these distinguishing features and you will be pleasantly satisfied. The smooth and rounded edges will help to create a comfortable and subtle feel, allowing you to recline and rest your head whilst soaking in your tub.

Another distinct feature of a Roll Top Bath is the dimensions as they are deeper than a normal bath. Due to a Roll Top Bath being so much deeper, you can soak your whole body inside the tub. Modern Roll Top Baths are made from different types of materials such as cast iron and acrylic. Cast Iron roll Top Baths tend be a lot more costly but offer a more realist traditional Roll Top Bath feel. It’s also worth remembering that Acrylic Roll Top Baths tend to keep the water warmer for a while longer. Modern Roll Top Baths are usually double skinned which also assists with maintaining heat.

I don’t know about you but my favorite time in the world is my bath time. Whether I use the shower or the tub, this moment is my personal sacred time and space. It’s my pamper-&-alone time and I seriously feel that this is the time when I can be most myself.

In a day, there’s usually one bath schedule I allot for myself wherein I bathe as long as I want and for sure I come out feeling like a better and cleaner person-washed off from the dirt and grime I’ve accumulated in life quite literally!

Of course, my bath time isn’t limited to just bathing… there are many things I do before, during and after the usual soap wash. Indeed there are different ways and means in order to enjoy bath time more. Again, it’s a completely preferential and personal experience; and whether it is giving yourself a facial, hot-oil, body-scrub, dancing and singing in the bathroom, or using bath salt during bath time, the option is wonderfully and creatively yours. Personally though, one of my favorite bath time “additive” is bath salt. I really enjoy using bath salt whenever I bathe.

Bath Salt is a very good stress reliever. It’s my secret ingredient during my most stressful days in a work-month. It calms my frayed nerves and over-used senses. There’s something about the bath salt and water mixture-whether it’s used in the tub or as a shower solution, it’s really soothing. I can get lost in my thoughts or with the music that I play during bath time. The bath salt and water solution literally cleans my body, and invigorates my spirit.

There are a number of health benefits to enjoy in using bath salt as well. If you have Psoriasis (scaly patches on the skin and joints) or Seborrheic Dermatitis (dandruff) bathing in bath salt is a great natural and affordable remedy for these diseases among others. Remember though to consult your doctor for the correct mixture for your body chemistry.

Bathing with bath salt also fits the wellness concept and ideology that is gaining popularity recently-I mean if stress levels can be alleviated with a regular (not necessarily daily) bath salt bathing ritual, it follows that I fell healthier and happier because of it.

Last but not the least, one thing I really enjoy about bath salt is the fact that it is a natural beauty therapy. Bath salt used in appropriate and proportional amounts, helps exfoliate dead, dry, old skin cells and helps make skin better, fresher, younger and more beautiful. I’d be crazy not to enjoy the benefits of having great skin all thanks to bath salt!!!

There could be more reasons to answer the question: “Why is Bath Salt so Enjoyable?”-maybe even you, dear reader, have some insights to share about bath salt as well. Yet for all the answers we may give, all I’m very sure of at this point in time is that life is full of simple pleasures. The fun happens when we make personal discoveries about random, probably daily things that make us sit back at the end of the day and say: “The great things in life come in small packages.”

Bath accessories can make a big change in any bathroom. Simply replacing old bath accessories with new ones can often make it look as though the entire bath has been redecorated.

Black and white bath accessories are an example of those that bring the greatest change to a bathroom. A study in just black and white, from floor to ceiling, is one way of using these two colors. Or try a study in black and white bath accessories with one other color as a backdrop.

Black and white bath accessories with red walls can produce a very dramatic look, no matter how large or small your bath is. Choose a warm red wall paper for a cozy, comforting look. Or use a deep, warm red paint on your walls. Then accent the red with black and white bath accessories.

Asian red is a good choice with black and white bath accessories. Picture a Chinese restaurant with imperial red walls and carpeting, pristine white tablecloths, and black lacquer furniture. You can use your black and white bath accessories to achieve the same look in your bath. Paint the walls with imperial red and use a similar or darker red on the floor, either in tiles or carpeting. Black toilet seat, tub, and vanity will look solid. Add white towels and smaller accessories. A shower curtain of white with palm or bamboo trees in black silhouette could add pattern without color. A black fern leaf design is also an option.

The Asian theme could be carried further with Croscill’s black and white bath accessories. Each has a black calligraphy letter on white, with words such as peace, prosperity, harmony, and happiness.

Black and White Bath Accessories to Use

Before you begin accessorizing your bath, you may want to find pictures of baths done in black and white. Look for photos in bathroom design galleries online. Visit your local home supply store to see samples of what can be done. Take time to think through your whole project, and decide which bath accessories you will want in black, which in white.

Black and white bath accessories will lend themselves to a sleek, modern look or a quaint, colonial look. Which do you want?

Do you have black and white ceramic tile in the older 4×4″ size? Do you have white wainscoting on the bottom portion of the walls? You may want to accessorize with colonial, antique items.

Do you have large, marble tiles on the floor and up the wall? Are cabinets set into the wall for a sleek look? You may want to accessorize with modern, contemporary items.

The following are a few suggestions to help you get started.

1. Vanity: Many call the vanity the focal point of the bathroom. Yours could be a sleek, modern black vanity, with a black or white vessel sink on top. Or you might go the other direction, using an antique white pedestal sink.

2. Shower and window curtains: White curtains with a black design are dramatic and add character to a bathroom. Black silhouettes of tree, leaf, or flower design are good, as are geometric black designs. Choose a design for your black and white bath accessories that carries your contemporary, antique, or other style.

3. Bath mats and rugs: Break up the color of your floor with black bath mats and rugs. Remember, when doing so, that some toiletries, such as toothpaste, may contain chlorine. A drop on a black may bleach.

4. Towels: Fluffy white towels are nice with a black or white monogram at one end. You might also combine black towels and white towels, so that each towel rack will carry the black and white theme.

5. Containers and Dispensers: Black and white bath accessories should include smaller items, too, such as wastebaskets, lotion dispensers, soap dish, toothbrush holder, and tissue box cover. You may want them in black only, white only, or a combination of the two.

Helpful Tip

Planning is essential if you want your black and white bath accessories to look good. Find a design that has everything you will need. If you choose contemporary, sleek black wire wastebasket and towel holders, you will not want to use white antique “china” containers and dispensers on your vanity.

The wedding shower or bridal shower is an important part of the wedding process. It not only gives the bride and her close friends a chance to get together before the wedding but also allows those who are close to the groom to learn more about the bride and her bridesmaids. However, before planning for the actual shower events shower invitations need to be sent out. Here are some guidelines to help you with the process.  Â

Â

When to Send out Bridal Shower Invitations

Â

Usually you would send out wedding shower invitations about 4 weeks beforehand. You could ask for reply about two weeks before the event if needed. This provides plenty of time for guests to reserve the date of the event without being notified too far in advance.Â

Â

What to Send and Include

Â

The obvious things are the date, time, and location of the shower and the name of the host. If you are having a special theme shower, do not forget to include special instructions so the guests can bring any required items to the shower. Many guests appreciate if the location at which the bride and groom are registered or a suggested list of gifts for the bride is also included with the invitation. Often we would recommend written directions or including a map with the invitations. Lastly, be sure to include a phone number to call in case people get lost on their way to the shower.Â

Â

Who is Invited

Â

The person or people hosting the shower should do the inviting with the bride’s assistance. A good place to start is the bride and groom’s wedding invitation list. If at all possible, do not invite anyone to the shower that will not also be invited to the wedding. Traditionally, you are supposed to invite only people who personally know the bride. However, it is not uncommon for the mother and close family or friends of the fiancé to be invited so they can get to know the bride better and be included in the festivities.

Â

Who should Host the Shower

Â

Usually the maid of honour and bridesmaids would host the shower. Today, a bridal shower is sometimes hosted by very close friends of the bride. The mother of the bride should never host the shower, but she can help with the arrangements or preparation of the food, if the shower is hosted at someone’s home.Â

Â

Who should Receive an Invitation

Â

In general, the rule is one invitation per person. So if you are inviting roommates or people living at the same address, then each should receive their own invitation. If men are invited then one invitation would be sent per couple.

Â

Wedding Shower Invitation Themes

Â

A popular bridal shower theme is the â??Bathrobe and slippersâ? theme. The guests get together and shower the bride with gifts meant to help her relax and unwind before the big day. Send out invitations for the shower with a picture of a bathrobe and slippers on it to set the tone. The invitation should instruct the guests to bring items suited to the purpose, such as bath products, gift certificates to a spa or salon, and yoga lessons.

Themes can also be practical. For instance, a honeymoon shower can be planned with the honeymoon destination in mind. Gifts can include helpful items like maps, travel books, or luggage. Food, decorations, guest favors and music can also be used to incorporate the theme of a honeymoon destination.

For a tea party theme, serve tea along with finger foods such as scones, finger sandwiches, petite fours, to your guests. Incorporate pictures of teapots into the shower invitations and give away tea packed in vellum pouches to each guest as a gift to take home.

For a winter bridal shower you can use Christmas Ornaments as a theme. Guests can be instructed to bring a ornament for the couple’s first Christmas tree. Serve apple cider and egg nog and find a warm location with a roaring fire to shower the bride. Place vases filled with pinecones and candles around the room to add a warm glow and play some Christmas music in the background to help celebrate the season.

For a garden party theme, the shower can be held in a garden setting and each table can be decorated with a pot of fresh growing herbs. Hang a few lanterns off the tree branches and give away packets of seeds as shower favors to accentuate the garden theme. Have each guest bring some of their favorite gardening tools for the bride to use at her new home.

For a favorite memories theme, have each guest brings a gift that represents a favorite past time spent with the bride. Have pictures of the bride and her friends and family posted around the room so each guest can reminisce about the times they have shared with the bride-to-be. For each favor, tie a printed picture of each guest from their childhood onto a box with the bride’s favourite sweets inside.

For a pajama theme, have guests arrive dressed in their PJ’s. Keep it simple and fill the evening with manicures, pedicures, facials and massages, comfort food, and lots of girl talk! As a perfect gift at the end of the night giveaway a bottle of your bride-to-be’s favourite nail polish!

For a cooking or baking theme have each guest write their favorite recipe on a recipe card and bring the card along with all non-perishable ingredients for the recipe in a box or gift basket. The invitations can be printed with pictures of cupcakes and other baked goods or a spatula and spoon. Place baskets with baked goods and flowers around the room to double as decorations and plan games around the bride-to-beâ??s favourite desserts and dishes.

Â

Thank you Cards

Â

Thank you cards should be written, by the bride, as soon after the shower as possible, and most certainly before the wedding. The thank you cards should be signed using the brideâ??s maiden name. During the shower, a bridesmaid should keep track of gifts given by guest while opening the presents so they may be properly thanked for the item they purchased for the bride. Â

You could go to a store and buy an aromatherapy bath product, or you could make your own at home. Herbal and aromatic baths are an ancient tradition, simple to make and easy on the wallet. Keep reading to learn more about why herbal baths are good for you, how to draw the best herbal baths and recipes that you can make.

Benefits of Herbal and Aromatic Baths

Herbal baths are detoxifying, aromatic and intensely relaxing, both spiritually and physically. The ceremony of bathing in herbs is a daily rite in many cultures, and a return to the course for both the body and the spirit.

The herbs chosen for an aromatic bath will change the effect of the bath. For example, if the bath is designed to invigorate the mind, one herb or combination of herbs may be chosen, but if the bath is designed to promote sleep, then another herb or combination of herbs may be chosen. This is just as you might pick one type of herbal tea to settle an upset stomach or another to help you relax.

Drawing the Perfect Aromatherapy Bath

Think of brewing an herbal bath like brewing that big cup of herbal tea. In fact, many people simply toss a few herbal tea bags right into the bath water and let the dried herbs do their work. If you’re making your own herbal baths, try wrapping the herb mixture in muslin and tying it off. Then, either drop these in the bath or tie them to the faucet.

If you want to make your own herbal and aromatherapy bath product mixtures, keep reading for some fantastic recipes that you can blend at home.

Invigorating Ginger Blend

Recipe:
¼ cup minced ginger root (promotes circulation)
¼ cup dried parsley (tonic for the skin)
½ cup grated lemon peel (cleansing and aromatic)
2 tablespoons oatmeal (softens the water)

Rosemary and Sage Bath

Mixture:
2 tbsp oatmeal (softens water)
¼ c sage (helps with poor concentration)
¼ c rosemary (promotes mental alertness)

Lemon and Orange Blend

Mixture:
¼ c grated orange peel (reduces anxiety and stress)
1 tbsp dried parsley (invigorates skin)
1 tbsp comfrey (antiseptic properties)
¼ c grated lemon peel (cleanser and invigorates the mind)

Basil, Eucalyptus and Peppermint Bath

Recipe:
¼ cup dried basil (regenerates mental powers)
¼ cup dried eucalyptus (improves concentration)
¼ cup dried peppermint (alleviates mental fatigue and low concentration)

Soothing Linden Bath Blend

Recipe:
¼ cup dried linden (soothes frayed nerves)
¼ cup dried comfrey (heals skin irritations)
¼ cup dried yarrow (ancient Chinese herb, astringent and great for aching muscles)
2 tablespoons oatmeal (softens bath water)

So, while you could spend anywhere from $5 to $30 on a pre-made aromatherapy bath product, it’s easy to make your own blends right at home. Feel free to tinker with these recipes, adding additional herbs or essential oils to customize the mix to your own tastes.

An herbal bath can be a most soothing experience, helping with the cleansing of the body and uplift of the spirit. Trying any of the options referenced above will no doubt bring relaxation in the midst of the weariness of life.

There are numerous baths available for you to choose from and they come in various shapes and sizes, which may make it difficult for you to choose your bathtub. However, one of the most popular baths today is the acrylic bath. There are many benefits of purchasing acrylic baths. This type of bathtub is very versatile and easy to maintain. That is why more and more people are buying baths made from acrylic. The following points are just some of the main features of an acrylic bath that you are sure to benefit from.

Acrylic baths are constructed using a sheet of vacuum moulded acrylic. The internal structure of these baths is reinforced with steel like strength fibre glass. As the chemical composition of acrylic is similar to plastics, an acrylic bath is a lightweight option. Should you ever want to redesign your bathroom, acrylic baths are easier to move around. Although acrylic baths are lightweight, they are very durable and strong. The durability of acrylic baths is due to the fibre glass that reinforces the external shell of the tub. Essentially, you will get two valuable benefits from acrylic baths. They are lightweight but at the same time very strong.

An excellent feature of the acrylic bath is that the colour will not fade. Acrylic tubs are manufactured using colour fast techniques. This means the acrylic raw material has its natural colouring at the start of the manufacturing process. The colours of the baths therefore are embedded through the acrylic and not painted on its exterior. That is why it is almost impossible for acrylic baths to fade because they do not have external paints. Due to the colour fast process, the hue and tint of an acrylic bath will be equally distributed. This makes acrylic baths extremely attractive and very elegant.

Every acrylic bath has a shiny and very glossy finish. This makes the tub smooth and stain-proof but should you notice some stains on its surface, you can easily remove them using most ordinary house cleaners and water. There are no special chemicals needed to clean acrylic baths. Ordinary soap and water will make your acrylic bath sparklingly clean. However, there are specific chemicals that can damage acrylic such as acetones and paint thinners so keep these harmful chemicals away from your acrylic bath in order to prevent surface damage.

Acrylic baths are very modern bathtubs suitable for everyone and they have the durability of steel because acrylic-made tubs are shatter proof. An Acrylic bath can be scratched but the original beauty of your acrylic bathtub can be restored using a special smoothing solution. If you are planning to redesign your bathroom and buy a new bath, acrylic is an excellent option.
