How you style a bathroom depends on a number of factors. First, there is the general style of your home. If everything in your home has a classic country sort of feel, having an ocean theme in your bathroom may seem out of place. Second, there’s the concept of the feel you want to create with the bathroom. For kids, you may choose a fun, cartoon theme; for those who are looking for a relaxing atmosphere, a place where it’s possible to fully unwind at the end of a long day, peaceful colors like those in a spa would be ideal.

Similarly, the types of colors that you’re like – along with the overall brightness of your bathroom – can determine whether you look for brightly colored accessories or those that are muted in color. Finally, there’s your personality, or the personality of the person who will be using the bathroom the most.

In general, there are four styles that are commonly used when accessorizing the bathroom – classy, muted, bright and fun.

In a classy bathroom, you may find yourself choosing bath accessories in muted colors, perhaps with a subtle floral tone. Toilet seat covers, towels, bath mats as wall as bath accessories for the counter – a soap dish or soap pump, a toothbrush holder and such – can all be coordinated with the shower curtain. You may start with a shower curtain that is a neutral color like beige with a rose colored embellishment and match the other bath accessories to the rose shade.

I don’t know about you but my favorite time in the world is my bath time. Whether I use the shower or the tub, this moment is my personal sacred time and space. It’s my pamper-&-alone time and I seriously feel that this is the time when I can be most myself.

In a day, there’s usually one bath schedule I allot for myself wherein I bathe as long as I want and for sure I come out feeling like a better and cleaner person-washed off from the dirt and grime I’ve accumulated in life quite literally!

Of course, my bath time isn’t limited to just bathing… there are many things I do before, during and after the usual soap wash. Indeed there are different ways and means in order to enjoy bath time more. Again, it’s a completely preferential and personal experience; and whether it is giving yourself a facial, hot-oil, body-scrub, dancing and singing in the bathroom, or using bath salt during bath time, the option is wonderfully and creatively yours. Personally though, one of my favorite bath time “additive” is bath salt. I really enjoy using bath salt whenever I bathe.

Bath Salt is a very good stress reliever. It’s my secret ingredient during my most stressful days in a work-month. It calms my frayed nerves and over-used senses. There’s something about the bath salt and water mixture-whether it’s used in the tub or as a shower solution, it’s really soothing. I can get lost in my thoughts or with the music that I play during bath time. The bath salt and water solution literally cleans my body, and invigorates my spirit.

Bath accessories can make a big change in any bathroom. Simply replacing old bath accessories with new ones can often make it look as though the entire bath has been redecorated.

Black and white bath accessories are an example of those that bring the greatest change to a bathroom. A study in just black and white, from floor to ceiling, is one way of using these two colors. Or try a study in black and white bath accessories with one other color as a backdrop.

Black and white bath accessories with red walls can produce a very dramatic look, no matter how large or small your bath is. Choose a warm red wall paper for a cozy, comforting look. Or use a deep, warm red paint on your walls. Then accent the red with black and white bath accessories.
